Complete curated reference of native iOS URI schemes, Android Intents, and universal protocols for 30+ major mobile apps. Search, copy, and test on your device.
A URL scheme is a custom protocol defined by an app (such as tg://, instagram://, or whatsapp://) that instructs the mobile operating system (iOS or Android) to launch that specific application and navigate directly to a destination screen.
While iOS uses direct URI schemes (e.g. instagram://user), modern Android Chrome browsers often prefer the intent:// syntax (e.g. intent://#Intent;package=com.instagram.android;scheme=https;end). This syntax allows Android to fall back to Google Play Store if the application is not installed.
If a user clicks a raw custom URL scheme on a device that doesn't have the app installed, their browser displays an unsightly error message ('Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid'). DSLink dynamically detects the user's platform, handles graceful fallbacks to web or app store, and collects analytics without error dialogs.
